Hunter x Hunter also known as Hanta Hanta in Japanese is one of the oldest Manga that started back in the year 1998 by Yoshihiro Tagashi and later it was adapted into an anime series directed by Kazuhiro Furuhashi and produced by Nippon animation.
The anime series went on with some delays over the years until 2004 with a total of 92 episodes and later another TV series that continued from the year 2011 to 2014. During all these years there have been many games, audio blocks, and movies made based on the stunning storyline.
Hunter x Hunter Plot
The anime series portrays the story of a young boy, Gon Freeccs, whose father, Ging Freeccs leaves him when he was very young, Gon spends his childhood without a father until one day when one of his father’s student tells him that his father isn’t dead but he is one of the most renowned hunters of all time.
Upon realizing this Gon instead of getting mad at his father’s decision to leave him decides to become a hunter himself just like his father and in doing so he needs to first pass an extensive hunter’ exam that takes place every year by the hunters association. But passing this exam is not easy but rather very hard as less than 5% of the candidates make it to the end of this exam.
Gon enters the exam on Whale Island and there he meets many more candidates like him who also want to become a hunter for many reasons. Amongst them, he becomes friends with 3 other candidates, Kurapika, Leorio, and Killua Zoldyck.
Once the exam starts they all manage to pass through many of the tests together until Killua loses control over his body to another examinee who makes him kill one of the competitors in the test and leave the exam. But eventually, the trio passes the exam and Gon chooses the artifacts that can help him meet his father but instead they find a kite, with whose help the journey to find Gon’s father started.
Hunter x Hunter Fillers
Hunter x Hunter has a unique storyline that is probably the main reason why anime lovers love it so much and it also has one of the lowest percentages of filler episodes in the series with just 5 reported fillers that barely makes 5% of all the episodes in the series.
